Path clearance this week back in Broadway with Mike, Simon, John B, John W and Lawrence.  About 300yds of BY644 and 300yds of BY521 (paths behind the Sands and leading to Highworth) were cleared back with John B on Stella 2, John W on the hedge trimmer and Simon, Mike and Lawrence on brushcutters. A brief but torrential downpour part way through made sure we were all soaked. John W and Lawrence then went off to clear a hung tree near the top of Fish Hill on the Cotswold Way.

Nearly a full team out today (Jeremy, Vin, Mike, Simon, John R and John B plus me) for a quick trip to Saintbury to replace a hanging post on a kissing gate. The weather held off and we made quick work of the gate with the job finished by 11:30 despite significant debate over sequence and how to reposition the lock. A good result and the land owner seemed pleased despite the fact we had finished by the time she brought the cakes. Lawrence Before and after pictures

Just a small team today of John W and John B but a great result with the finger post now back in place in the middle of Broadway. (Also the trip hazard removed from Mike's parking space 😏)

Almost the full team this week with Vin, Jeremy, Mike, David, Pat, John W and John B to tackle the long span bridge on HCC 19 east of Chipping Camden. Work was somewhat complicated by the harvesting of sugar beets in the field and some fairly heavy duty tractors crossing the main concrete farm bridge. The old bridge was removed following some fleet footed work by John B and then David taking out every other cross board and avoiding the drop to the stream then the main beams were removed to clear the area. The team was joined by Rob (CNL) who brought the new bridge hardware on a trailer and enough heavy tools to make the job viable.  Rob was also clear on the construction process (although that didn't stop people debating if there were other ways to do it!) Pictures of the completed bridge (before and after) followed by a series during construction curtesy of Mr Klaiber.

Two teams today: Team 1 (Jeremy, John W, Simon, John B, Pat and Dave) went back to Willersey to put in the second kissing gate on Willersey Hill fields. Clearly practice makes perfect as the gate was put in in record time despite the stoney ground. After pictures awaiting fence to marry up   Team 2 (team of 2) was Mike and Lawrence.  Two tasks: fitting a grid over a ditch in the run up to a field gate at Greystones Farm; the second was installing a way marker on HCC29 below the abbey fields in Chipping Camden.  Grid protection for ditch by gate Chipping Camden waymarker

This week the team managed the installation of handrails and a new metal gate in Willersey on the Farncombe land in the next field along from the gate and KG we installed a few weeks ago.  Attendees were Mike, John B, John W, David and Pat Pictures as always from Mr Klaiber.
